Privacy
What Save the Dutch and this website store about you, where it lives, and how to have it deleted. Last updated 5 October 2026.
Who we are
Save the Dutch is made by Raccoonbox, Konstantin Nikkari, in Finland. Questions or requests: hello@raccoonbox.com.
This website
You need no account to read it, and we store nothing about you. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your language choice is remembered in your own browser, so the page opens in it next time. It never leaves your device.
- The lettering comes from Google Fonts. To fetch it, your browser connects to Google, which sees your IP address.
- The video is YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. It sets no cookies until you press play; once you do, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
When you sign up in the game
The game asks for your email address once, when you first play.
- Your email address. To send you a sign-in code, and to send you news about Save the Dutch. You can leave the news list at any time.
- A player number, made at random, which ties your reports to your account.
- Sign-in technical details, such as your IP address and device, kept with the sign-in to keep your account secure.
After that the game remembers you with a small file on your own computer, so it does not need to ask again.
Your account is a Raccoonbox account, so the same sign-in also works in other Raccoonbox games, such as Primevalor.
Children: the game is made for children from about six. A child under 13 should sign up with a parent’s email address.
When you report a problem
Only if you press the report button and send it:
- what you wrote, and when;
- the game’s version, its language, and your operating system;
- which quest you were on, and where you stood in the game world;
- your player number and email address, so we can write back.
On your own computer
The game keeps your settings, such as language and sound, and the sign-up file on your computer. They stay there. A report written without a connection waits there too, and is sent once you are back online.
Where it is kept
- Appwrite stores accounts and problem reports, in its Frankfurt data centre in Germany.
- Lettermint (the Netherlands) sends the sign-in code emails.
- Webbikettu (Finland) hosts this website. Like any web host it keeps short-lived server logs.
- itch.io serves the download, under their privacy policy.
We use this only to run the game and to tell you about it. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers.
Cookies
This website sets none. The video sets YouTube’s cookies only if you play it, so there is no cookie banner.
How long
As long as you have an account. Delete it and your data goes with it.
Deleting your data
Email hello@raccoonbox.com from the address you signed up with and ask. We delete your account and everything tied to it within 30 days and confirm by email. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold, or for anything wrong to be corrected.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi.
Coming later
Your Raccoonbox account will also save your progress in the game, such as diplomas and outfits. We will update this page before that arrives.
